What Exactly is “Acne”?
Acne is something most of us, regardless of sex, have experienced at one time or another.  It is characterized by clogged pores which have either white or black heads and can be quite painful. As many as three out of four teenagers have experienced it to some extent. It is most prevalent during adolescence because hormonal changes stimulate the sebaceous glands (oil glands) into producing more sebum (oil), increasing the chance of acne. While most people outgrow acne in their late teens or early twenties, many continue to be affected much longer. Aggravation of acne in later life may occur with menstrual periods, use of birth control pills, use of oil-based products and stress.

Cystic Acne
The harshest and the most painful form of acne is called Cystic Acne.  This form of the infection is very painful, and the infection cannot be cured overnight. Cysts are formed and swollen red pustules, or “zits” are visible on the external surface of the skin.

The main cause of development of the infection cannot be defined specifically, and it actually varies from individual to individual.  The staff at CoolSculpting Southlake have the experience necessary to properly diagnose and treat the unique causes and if you suffer from cystic acne, can help guide you down the path towards an acne-free future.

Are you struggling with Acne? Have you tried all the “miracle therapies”?
Traditional acne treatments, including oral and topical drugs, often have mixed results. They may have harmful side effects and take a long time to work.  The drug Accutane, for instance, has been found to have drastic negative long-term effects. In contrast, CoolSculpting Southlake practices cutting-edge acne treatments, using state of the art microdermabrasion and laser techniques to safely and effectively treat mild, moderate and inflammatory acne. Our acne treatments combat breakouts in two ways: they kill the bacteria that cause acne, and they reduce the size of sebaceous glands that produce oil and contribute to clogged pores.

Do you suffer from in-grown hairs on your neck or jaw-line?
Often times, over-washing, and the use of a razor with too many blades can be the cause.  We can help you address the problem and find the solution.  Our experienced staff will aid you in getting on regimine that will rid your face of ingrown hairs which may include microdermabrasion or IPL laser treatments.  We can also help you find the right products that will give you a clean, supple, bump-free skin.  We know that skin care is not exclusive, and that everyone wants to look their best.
